One Paragraph Review: Watchmen
by Mitchell Dyer
Though there are two characters to play as in Watchmen: The End is Nigh, they’re functionally the same with slight differences: the aggressive Rorschach can wield weapons, while the technical Nite Owl is able to handle groups more effectively. By the time you reach the protracted and completely formulaic final fight in Watchmen, you and your co-op partner will have painfully sore thumbs — simply mashing the attack button until the credits roll two hours later leaves you desperate for something substantial. Brutal counter-attacks add a bit of depth to the combat, but the dumb fun of thug-thumpin’ becomes dull long before you gain that ability. Sadly, you learn it almost immediately.
