One Paragraph Review: The Force Unleashed
by Mitchell Dyer
The Force Unleashed demands very little from you. Wreaking wanton destruction across gorgeous locales in the Star Wars universe should require more than button mashing combos and the occasional on-screen button-prompt, but I had a blast hurling wookies off of cliffs and launching Stormtroopers into each other as Darth Vader’s secret apprentice anyway. The biggest bummer? The game’s most incredible moments tear away the satisfying tangibility of sith lord badassery in favor of intrusive quick-time events. The balance of the combat is thrown off, and is salvaged by a solid story that sets the stage for the original film. The satisfying, jaw-dropper ending is a great cap to a gripping adventure.
