One Paragraph Review: Dragon Age

by Meghan Watt

From branching dialogue trees to detailed character customization, Dragon Age: Origins players get full control over the protagonist in what amounts to a captivating 60-hour adventure.  Subscribing to a tried-and-true fantasy formula, the game’s story and pacing flip flop between intense whirlwinds of romance and betrayal, to long, tedious walks through underground tunnels.  But even in these darker stages, Dragon Age manages to stay on top with challenging combat, witty banter between party members and good ol’ dungeon looting.  Together with pristine graphics and top-notch voice acting, this title is the finest example of fantasy role-playing not on paper.
