One Paragraph Review: Uncharted 2

by Trevor Whatman

For the uninitiated, the Uncharted universe is a lovingly crafted combination of Indiana Jones (pre-fridge), and Tomb Raider (pre-films). In Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Nathan Drake returns as the wise-cracking, velcro-handed, affable adventurer who amasses a genocidal body count between one-liners. The near-perfect gameplay pulls you along at a breakneck pace while still feeling vast and open to exploration. Fluid animations, picturesque environments, and top-tier voice acting fully entrench you into the action, and it’s nigh impossible to put the controller down once this ride is underway.  I initially questioned the inclusion of online multiplayer, but after a few matches I embraced it. With Uncharted 2, Naughty Dog sets the benchmark of quality for console gaming.
