One Paragraph Review: New Super Mario Bros. Wii

by Trevor Whatman

Nintendo provides two distinct gaming experiences in New Super Mario Bros. Wii:  single player, and absolute mayhem.  Playing alone rewards those with patience and a steady hand a familiar, yet generally problem-free, journey to Bowser’s Castle.   The floaty physics from NSMB DS return, which may deter those only familiar with the original SMB series.  However, generous doses of nostalgia allow a seasoned player to look past any shortcomings.  NSMB is best experienced with four people maniacally cackling as they attempt to throw each other down a pit, but it’s also a brilliant re-introduction to the “Godfather of platforming” for the retro-fitted single player enthusiast.
